A motivational speaker specialising in business management, Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones says that the term “poor boy done good” describes him best – going from Jamaica to inner city Birmingham and then to owning his own farming business.
Falling in love with the outdoors and with nurturing plants from a very early age, Wilfred managed to become a producer and director for the BBC and is credited with bringing into our living rooms such celebrity chefs as Antony Worrall-Thompson, Gordon Ramsay, James Martin and Brian Turner.
The motivational speaker then set up his own food and drink marketing company in London and, after acquiring a small farm in Devon, created the popular Black Farmer brand of foods.
The truly inspirational Wilfred says: “Flavours without Frontiers – the promise offered by my products – also goes some way to sum up my personality. I will not be confined by race, convention or tradition. I have strong opinions on issues such as rural affairs, justice for small producers and giving young people more opportunity.”
On being a motivational speaker, Wilfred says: “I love talking to all sorts of groups – from young farmers, colleges and prisons to huge private organisations and government departments. I also often chair committees, run workshops and take part on discussion panels. I am so encouraged that my own life story is able to inspire and motivate others.”
