Dave Cornthwaite is a British explorer, writer and filmmaker who is available to book as a motivational speaker through Champions.
A Guinness World Record holder and adventurer, Dave has been travelling the globe for over a decade making his first expedition to Africa as part of a gap year charitable excursion which provided teachers for underprivileged children.
He worked as a graphic designer until 2005 when he quit his job to devote himself full-time to his passion of travelling, making his first professional expedition as the first person to skateboard the length of Britain, from John O’Groats to Lands’ End.
At the core, he is a record-breaking adventurer who has travelled over 19,000 miles as part of the groundbreaking Expedition1000 project: 25 journeys of 1000 miles or more, each using a different form of non-motorised transport.
Dave has written three books: the bestselling “Life in the Slow Lane”, a hapless search for love in date, and “BoardFree”, the story of how he left his job to skateboard further than anyone ever had.
Dave’s mission revolves around a simple philosophy: to ensure our potential as both a race and individuals isn’t wasted, to motivate people to break down their fears and not be afraid to challenge themselves. To consume less, enjoy Mondays and for us all to look after our own little corner of the planet, because if we’re all happy the world will be a much better place.
His uniquely entertaining and motivational keynote presentations have been enjoyed on six continents and his passionate advocacy of the word “Yes” has contributed to the sprouting of countless adventures worldwide, big and small.
An inspiring individual and hugely entertaining motivational speaker, Dave is available for hire for a variety of events with Champions Motivational Speakers. To do so, complete the online form or contact us by telephone on: +44 1509 85 29 27.
