Adventurer and peak performance speaker Roz Savage has an incredible story to tell. She went from being a marketing consultant with a nice house and sports car to someone who got rid of it all and became the first woman to row solo across the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans.
Sounds amazing but it’s true. And there’s more: not only did Roz change her life around completely but she also became an enthusiastic campaigner for protecting the environment and an expert on motivation, nutrition and training.
With her own YouTube Channel, Roz shares her experiences and knowledge with the world. The peak performance speaker has also written two inspirational books – Stop Drifting, Start Rowing: One Woman’s Search for Happiness and Meaning Alone on the Pacific; and Rowing the Atlantic: Lessons Learned on the Open Ocean.
As Roz puts it, she sat down one day and wrote out two version of her obituary – one that described how her life had been and one that reflected how she would like her life to have been. The difference between the two shocked her.
The peak performance speaker with a law degree says: “I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t fulfilled. Clearly something was going to have to change. So I decided to row the Atlantic.”
Combining leadership theory, neuroscience and psychology, Roz Savage has made presentations to a wide variety of audiences, including many businesses, universities and schools as well as such organisations as the Royal Geographical Society, eBay, Google and the National Geographic Society.
