Although he is now well-known as a TV pundit and motivational speaker, former footballer Chris Waddle has long been famous for his natural football talent, his crucial penalty miss when England lost to West Germany in the 1990 World Cup… and his mullet.
Now minus the iconic haircut, Waddle is seen regularly on football programmes sharing his professional opinions on the match and on the players.
With a career that stretched from 1978 to 1998, the motivational speaker has played for such major British clubs as Newcastle United (170 appearances), Tottenham Hotspur (138), Olympique de Marseille (107), Sheffield Wednesday (109), Falkirk (4), Bradford City (25), Sunderland (7), Burnley (32), and Torquay United (7).
In all, Chris made 663 appearances in a league football strip and scored 126 goals. Internationally, he played for England for six years, getting 62 caps and scoring six goals (but, unfortunately for England, not the one that could have made him legendary in the history of English football).
Waddle did try his hand at management, running Burnley for a year but he has since proved extremely popular with TV viewers and with audiences at events of various sizes and types.
