Former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Lennox Lewis was born to a boxer. Weighing in at 10lbs 10oz at birth, Lennox moved away to Canada at the age of 12 to focus on the art of pugilism. Arnie Boehm coached Lewis throughout his amateur career whilst also acting as a friend and father figure, establishing a record of 95-9. Lewis is regarded as one of the greatest boxing heavyweights of all time, turning professional in 1989; Lewis consecutively won his first 21 fights before knocking out Donovan Ruddock in 1992 to take the No. 1 ranking in WBC rankings. Lennox became WBC Heavyweight Champion later that year after Riddick Bowe was stripped of the title. Lewis’ almost unrivalled 84-inch reach made him a formidable competitor, and is ranked to this day as BoxRec’s best ever pound-for-pound British boxer.
