Heather Mills

Environmentalist & Animal Rights Activist

Heather Mills

Heather Mills is a British entrepreneur and environmentalist who is available for hire as a motivational speaker through Champions.

The Aldershot-born former model came to public attention when a collision with a police motorcycle in 1993 resulted in the amputation of her left leg below the knee – she continued to model using a prosthetic limb and sold her story to a tabloid newspaper.

Using the proceeds to set up a charitable organization that recycles old prostheses for disadvantaged amputees, Heather went on to become a spokesperson for the disabled and amputee community.

She entered a relationship with former Beatles singer and guitarist Paul McCartney in 2000, marrying him two years later, and she was a tabloid favourite until the couple’s divorce in 2008.

After her marriage to Paul, she became involved in animal rights advocacy and as of 2012 is a patron of Viva! (Vegetarians’ International Voice for Animals) and the Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation.

She is also vice-president of the Limbless Association and skied in the British disabled ski team’s development squad for the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games.

Further complimenting her background as an animal rights and environment speaker, Heather is an outspoken vegan and owns her own chain of vegan restaurants and brand of vegan foods.

She is actively involved in the business management and development of her various endeavours and has appeared as an after dinner speaker and business expert at vegetarian, vegan and animal rights conventions.
