Neil Tan is a FinTech and Web 3.0 Specialist, who is the Chairman and Board Member of the FinTech Association of Hong Kong – a not-for-profit organisation that speaks on behalf of the FinTech community. He is also the Co-Chair of the WealthTech Committee and Member of the InsurTech Committee at the FinTech Association of Hong Kong. With over 20 years of experience in business development, mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy and partnerships, Neil is now available to speak at a range of events on topics like Web3, FinTech, Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies, and AI.
Currently a Convention Ambassador at the Hong Kong Tourism Board, he is also a Steering Committee Member at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Neil has worked at some of the world’s top organisations across different sectors like banking and finance, management consulting and technology. He started out his career as the Director of Corporate Development at Sanmina-SCI Corporation, where he focused on securing deals in the communications, automotive, medical, defense, and aerospace sectors amongst others. Neil has also been the Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for Royal Philips Electronics, the Principal for The Boston Consulting Group and Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Marketing for OSRAM Licht AG – proving his mettle to carry out pivotal roles in big corporations quite early on in his career.
In 2015, Neil assumed responsibility for selling big data and digital loyalty solutions to C-Suite executives in the consumer and retail sectors as the Sales Director at Alliance Data. Before taking over as the CEO of Neptune Digital Limited, Neil was the Head of Business Development, Digital Partnerships and Innovation for HSBC Hong Kong where he co-founded Project NEO. Keen on helping early-stage businesses, as a Member of AngelVest he has invested in several businesses and offers his mentorship to them. He is also a Mentor for Chinaccelarator and the Center of Entrepreneurship at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
