Karimah Ayinde is a cyber security consultant with a strong background in financial services. She spent the early part of her career in financial services after studying at the Loughborough University School of Business and Economics. Her financial services career began at Calastone a global financial services organisation with links in over 50 countries around the globe processing over £200 billion of investment value.
Her time at Calastone saw her head up the internal cyber security initiatives and security policy implementation for staff. Karima is also unique as a speaker in the fact that she plays an active role in diversity and inclusion groups, she provides coaching for many young people from diverse backgrounds and is an advocate for gender equality in organisations. Karimah is an extremely well educated and experienced cyber security professional with a passion for diversity and inclusion and a great choice as a speaker in the cyber security space.
Karima has experience at one of the largest banking groups in the UK Lloyds Banking Group. In her role as a fraud analyst she was responsible for spotting trends within transactions, looking for deceptive information. The role saw her fall in love with technology and analysis. She then progressed into cyber security and analysis roles at Lloyds Banking Group as she gained more and more qualifications in the cybersecurity space.
With a growing career in cyber security Karimah has been active in supporting others on their journey into the industry. She regularly supports a number of students with CV writing and coaching. She believes that everyone deserves to be able to put their best foot forward and access opportunities. She has built a following on social media helping younger people prepare for interviews and better their CV’s.
In her professional career she continues to progress within the cyber security field. More recently she took a position at a rapidly growing specialist cybersecurity consulting group Bridewell Consulting which won Cyber Business of The Year at the National Cyber Awards. At Bridewell, Karimah is deeply involved in spotting trends assessing risks for huge companies all over the world.
