Biography:

Dr Brooke Vandermolen, widely known as The OBGYN Mum, is an NHS Obstetrics and Gynaecology Doctor, women's health educator, author and sought-after speaker dedicated to making women's health information more accessible. A practising NHS doctor with experience spanning pregnancy, reproductive health, paediatric and adolescent gynaecology and menopause care, Brooke combines frontline clinical expertise with an ability to communicate complex medical topics clearly. She is the author of Bloody Powerful, published by Cambridge University Press, and the creator of The OBGYN Mum, an educational platform whose video and written content generates more than three million views each month.

Brooke developed her medical expertise through training across several leading NHS organisations. During her early career, she chaired the GP Society at UCL Medical Society and contributed to the Medical Women's Federation as a Junior Editor. After beginning work as a Foundation Year Doctor at West Hertfordshire Hospitals, she continued her training at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust before specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She progressed through specialist registrar positions while developing expertise in maternal medicine, high-risk pregnancy and reproductive health, presenting and publishing research internationally.

Alongside her clinical career, Brooke has developed particular expertise in areas of women's health that are frequently misunderstood or overlooked. She has worked in antenatal clinics and labour wards, undertaken specialist work in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology and served as Senior Medical Advisor to Ovarian Cancer Action. From 2020 to 2023, she co-founded The Birth Collective, creating online pregnancy and postnatal education, while her work as The OBGYN Mum has grown into a major women's health platform. Brooke currently works within University College London Hospitals as a senior Obstetrics and Gynaecology trainee while completing a competitive robotic gynaecological surgery fellowship.

She sits on expert panels advising YouTube Health, TikTok and Meta and has created digital content for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the wider NHS.
