Simon Morris is an internationally recognised creative leader, marketer and media innovator, currently serving as Chief Creative Officer at Amazon. With a career spanning more than three decades, he has shaped some of the world’s most iconic entertainment and consumer brands, earning his place in the UK Marketing Hall of Fame and receiving multiple Emmy nominations for his work in global creative strategy.
Simon began his career in gaming as Marketing Director at Sega in 1989, where he led campaigns that transformed the industry. His work on Sonic the Hedgehog 2 helped set the record for the largest software launch of its time, generating more than £1 billion in revenue and firmly establishing Sega as a cultural phenomenon. He went on to hold senior roles at BSkyB, HP and Ginger TV Productions, further cementing his reputation as a creative strategist with a rare ability to drive mass-market impact.
In 1997, he co-founded 365 Corp, a pioneering digital media group that included Football365, one of the earliest and most successful online sports platforms. His entrepreneurial journey continued in 2004 when he became Chief Marketing Officer of LOVEFiLM International, helping to scale the business into Europe’s largest streaming-by-post service before its acquisition by Amazon. Simon also played a key role in advertising strategy for major global brands including Graze, Tails and LEGO, demonstrating his versatility across categories and audiences.
Simon joined Amazon in 2014 as Director of Advertising EU, rising to Global Creative Director in 2016 and Chief Creative Officer in 2018. He now oversees creative development for one of the world’s largest brands, contributing to Amazon’s global storytelling, cultural reach and customer experience. Alongside his role at Amazon, he holds several chairmanships across innovative creative and technology organisations, including Novel, JAAQ, DiO and Object Studios, and serves as Governor of the Museum of London. His continued influence across digital media, entertainment and cultural sectors positions him as one of the UK’s foremost creative leaders.
