Flying commercially as a long-haul airline pilot since leaving the Royal Air Force in 1998, former squadron leader Andy is highly experienced in many types of aircraft – both military and commercial. In inspirational and motivational presentations, he enthrals audiences with his ‘plane speaking’ and his knowledge of life in the air.
Suited to just about any kind of event, including lectures and speeches on ocean liners where he regularly appears, Andy Wyatt joined the RAF at just 18 years old.
He progressed to the Red Arrows after years of flying the English Electric Lightning – the supersonic fighter aircraft of the Cold War era. Andy had the unenviable task of intercepting Russian aircraft. Motivational speaker Andy has also had a spell as the solo display pilot of the Red Arrows’ two-seater Hawk jet, which can reach speeds of more than 630mph – in 1992, he was given the Queens Commendation For Valuable Services In The Air.
Andy is also highly skilled at teambuilding outside an aeroplane – he is a member of the Breitling Wingwalkers, the world’s only formation aerobatic wing-walking display team!
