Dan Cobley is an expert in all things digital, marketing, fintech and innovation. Throughout his career, Dan has worked amongst some of the world’s largest companies, including the likes of Google, Capital One, Santander and PepsiCo. Renowned for educating on how to better sales and transform businesses, Dan is now frequently booked as a corporate events speaker, covering topics such as digital disruption, culture and innovation for companies such as Deloitte and Fujitsu.
Having worked for several successful businesses, Dan is best known as a former Managing Director of the UK and Ireland for Google. Working with Google for eight years, Dan held a number of other positions with the business all focused on marketing across Europe, EMEA, Ireland and the UK. Dan is also widely known for the time he spent as the Vice President of Brand and Marketing for Europe at Capital One, and as co-founder of ClearScore, SalaryFinance, Koodoo, OpenWrks and British Council EnglishScore.
Before delving into his highly successful career, Dan obtained a BA in Physics and a Masters in Management. During his studies at the University of Cambridge, Dan also dedicated his time to working as an engineer located in Egypt and Pakistan. Dan’s first major role came in 1995, when he accepted a position as a Marketing Manager/ Director for PepsiCo. With PepsiCo, he was responsible for various marketing roles with subsidiaries such as Walkers Snack Foods and Pepsi Foods. Dan was also the Marketing Director and VP of Marketing for Ask Jeeves, before joining Capital One in 2002.
Dan’s expertise has been extended to several other businesses, including roles such as a European Board Advisor for eHarmony.com, a Chairman for the Telegraph Media Group, VP of Brand Solutions for Google, a Strategic Advisor for Santander and an investor/ advisor for Liberis. Since leaving Google, Dan has devoted his time to co-founding and chairing several businesses such as ClearScore and Pirkx. He is currently working as the Director of ClearScore and as a Managing Partner of Blenheim Chalcot, putting his expertise of fintech and innovation in practice. He is also now a NED for Admiral Financial Services and is the Chair of Pirkx.
The work that Dan has performed over his career has accredited Dan with recognition from top publications. He has previously been noticed as number three in the Top 100 List by Wired in 2012, and he has also been placed in second on the 1000 Most Influential Londoners; Digital Innovators by The Evening Standard. Now, Dan is highly sought as a keynote speaker for events and has previously been invited to deliver a TED talk titled What Physics Taught Me About Marketing.
