Lord Kim Darroch is a decorated former politician, who spent his career working at 10 Downing Street and in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as a UK Civil Servant. Famed for his former role as the British Ambassador to the United States and the UK Permanent Representative to the European Union, Kim is now booked as a speaker to share his expertise on national and international politics. Joining the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1977, Kim joined the Diplomatic Service and accepted his first major role as the First Secretary in Tokyo. He has also worked as the EU Adviser to Prime Minister Tony Blair, National Security Adviser to Prime Minister David Cameron, Private Secretary to the Minister of State for the Middle East, Head of the Adriatic Department during the Dayton Accord negotiations and the Cabinet Office European Secretariat.
During his time in office, Kim has been involved with issues such as Russian aggression in Ukraine and the collapse of the government in Libya. He has also conducted tours across Rome, Brussels and Tokyo and featured on international and national news broadcasts for the likes of Channel 4, GB News and CNN. To reward his commitments to politics, Kim has been appointed both KCMG and CMG, as well as being made Life Peer Baron Darroch of Kew of St Mawes in the County of Cornwall. He is also the Chairperson of Best for Britain and the author of the book Collateral Damage: Britain, America and Europe in the Age of Trump.
