Mel Schilling is an internationally recognised relationship expert, confidence coach and television personality best known for her long-standing role on 'Married at First Sight Australia' and her work on 'Married at First Sight UK'. With more than two decades of experience in behavioural coaching and psychology-informed practice, Mel is hired as a speaker for her practical insight into confidence, communication and resilient relationships.
After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Deakin University, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology at the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources and Industrial Relations at Victoria University, Mel founded Extraversion Consulting in 2003. Her work focused on behavioural coaching and personal development. In 2013, she became the first Australian accredited by the International Dating Coaching Association, and in 2014 was appointed Dating and Relationship Expert for eHarmony Australia, establishing her as a trusted authority in modern relationships.
In 2016, Mel joined 'Married at First Sight Australia' as the resident Relationship Expert, appearing for 12 seasons and becoming one of the programme’s defining voices. She expanded into the UK market in 2019, launching a full-time Confidence, Relationships and Success coaching practice. In 2021, she joined 'Married at First Sight UK' as a Relationship Coach and Expert Panel Member, alongside regular appearances on major programmes including This Morning. Following a public diagnosis of colon cancer in 2023, she announced remission in 2025 and stepped down from the Australian series in 2026. She is also the author of 'The C Word Confidence', a practical guide to building lasting self-belief.
