Anne-Laure Le Cunff is a neuroscientist, award-winning author, entrepreneur and Founder of Ness Labs, whose work explores how curiosity can transform the way people think, learn and live. A researcher at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London, Anne-Laure specialises in the psychology and neuroscience of curiosity, including its relationship with ADHD. Her research considers how neuroscience can support people across different neurotypes throughout education, work and personal development. She is also the author of Tiny Experiments: How to Live Freely in a Goal-Obsessed World, which was crowned overall Business Book of the Year in 2026.
Anne-Laure began her career in technology after completing a Master in Management at NEOMA Business School. Following internships with Google, she became an Associate Product Marketing Manager before progressing into senior marketing positions, including Brand Marketing Lead for Wearables and Global Marketing Lead for Google Fit. Her growing interest in the relationship between technology, health and human behaviour led her towards entrepreneurship and neuroscience. She founded Ness Labs in 2020, creating a platform and community centred around curiosity, mindful productivity, creativity and mental wellbeing. That same year, she completed an MSc in Applied Neuroscience at King’s College London before later earning a PhD in Psychology and Neuroscience.
Today, Anne-Laure combines academic research, writing and entrepreneurship to investigate curiosity and its applications to ADHD, AI, mental health and lifelong learning. She is a UKRI-funded neuroscientist working within the ADHD Research Lab at King’s College London and has served as a Scientific Advisor to reMarkable. Her writing reaches more than 130,000 newsletter readers, while her ideas have appeared in publications including The New York Times, The Guardian and Aeon. In 2025, she published Tiny Experiments, introducing a science-informed approach to replacing rigid goals with experimentation and curiosity. In September 2026, the book won both the Work & Life category and the overall Business Book of the Year at the Business Book Awards.
As a sought-after speaker, Anne-Laure translates neuroscience into engaging and practical ideas audiences can apply to work and everyday life. She has addressed audiences of more than 1,000 people and delivered talks, lectures and workshops for organisations and institutions including Oxford University, Google, KPMG, Qualcomm, HubSpot and the World Economic Forum. Her speaking appearances also include TEDx and SXSW EDU. Exploring curiosity, experimentation, neurodiversity, mental health, AI and lifelong learning, Anne-Laure is hired to help audiences question conventional approaches to success, navigate uncertainty and develop more adaptable ways of thinking.
