"On behalf of Southwell RFC, I would like to thank you for being a large part of a very successful end of season players dinner. Your speech was one of the funniest and most relevant to a Junior club, that we have ever had. It is no mean feat to entertain such a mixed audience who by the very nature of the event, do not want to sit quietly for very long, and you accomplished this admirably. It cannot be easy sitting through endless presentations to people you know nothing about, but you remained gracious throughout. You will be a hard act to follow and I wish you every success in pursuing this very precarious career path!" - Charlie Anstey - Southwell Rugby Club
"Thank you very much for your entertaining talk at our Club Dinner on Saturday. Your anecdotes were much appreciated and we had positive comments from the boys. I hope you enjoyed the evening and had a safe journey home.
Good to meet you and best wishes to you and Nottingham for the future" - Steve - Kendall RFC
"Gary gave a very informative and entertaining account of his days in the England International squad at our Rugby Club Vice Presidents' Dinner. His stories and experiences are well suited to audiences of our generation and I can highly recommend him." - David Young, Vice President Chairman. Stratford upon Avon Rugby Football Club Ltd
"Gary Rees spoke at the dinner following on from an over-40s charity rugby match at Morley RUFC on 10th May.
Gary had thankfully stepped in at very short notice as our original speaker was unable to attend. Gary was well known to the audience from his exploits as an outstanding England rugby player in the 80s and 90s.
His speech was hilarious but did not just contain the usual anecdotes about former internationals. He has obviously given serious thought to the psychology of the dressing room at the highest levels of sport and rugby in particular. This resulted in a much more interesting and memorable account of his experiences than is usual from famous after-dinner speakers. The speech was as thought-provoking as it was humorous and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Gary was a major part of a fantastic day at Morley and took the time to chat with the attendees after the dinner, well into the evening.
I would whole-heartedly recommend Gary as a main speaker at any sporting event of this nature (not just rugby!). We will definitely be booking him in the future." - Dr Simon M Enright, Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust
"Gary Rees spoke recently at our end of season dinner. He recalled his early days on the road to international stardom and discussed some of the pros & cons of the present rugby union set up. Most interesting. He interspersed his speech with anecdotes from his playing days with England. These were all stories we hadn’t heard before and a refreshing change from the oft repeated “stock”. All in all a much appreciated talk which was well applauded by the audience. After the dinner he stayed behind & mixed with the members at the bar, again much appreciated. A good choice!" - Ralph Dawson, Chairman Wolverhampton RUFC Former Players Association.
