Kickstarting his coaching career with school and community programmes, Jones received several prompts and positive feedback surrounding his work which led him to set up the Gerard School of Football. The business set out to coach non-league youth and reserve teams as well as college and university programs, however, by 2010 Gerard Jones’ once small proposition was named in the Top 100 Best Business Start-ups in the UK when he was only at the age of 19.
Now a leading provider of football coaching and personal development with thirteen years of experience under his belt, Jone’s roster of previous work includes working as a Director of Coaching at Arsenal Soccer Schools, U21’s Assistant Coach at Bradford AFC and First Team Manager at Eccleshill United FC.
Most recently, Gerard has acted as Head of Academy Coaching for Bristol Rovers FC where he was responsible for the training and development of all age groups. He worked closely with the Academy Manager and Phase Lead Coaches to make the programmes more efficient and targeted towards the team members.
In 2011, Gerard’s name was announced on the Top 50 brightest and most talented people in the North of England list, he was also awarded the Junior Chamber International UK and the Ten Outstanding Young person award for his success and creation of coaching programs with Gerard School of Football.
Also a published author of Lets Talk Soccer, a holder of an FA UEFA A Licence, FA Advanced Youth Award and Masters degree in Performance Coaching, it’s clear that Gerard Jones is an established and highly regarded coach and mentor.
