Former England cricket captain, Alec Stewart, is credited with leading the national team during one of their most exciting periods. In 1993 Alec was recognised as a Wisden Cricketer of the Year and for his commitment to his club, Surrey County Cricket Club named their gates after him.
Since retiring in 2003 from professional play, Alec has remained dedicated to the sport in several official roles. His biggest commitment has been to his former club starting as a coaching consultant then taking on the position of Executive Director to Surrey County Club in 2011. In 2014, Alec forged a new venture as Director of Cricket, responsible for the success of the side.
