A right-arm fast bowler and a low-order batsman, Jason Gillespie is known for scoring a Test double century of 201 in 2006, the highest score by a 'night-watchman' and is still unbeaten in international cricket.;
Making his One Day International (ODI) cricket debut in the summer of 1996 and his Test debut in November against the West Indies, Jason progress onto make his first Australian domestic century at the Pura Cup in the 2007/2008 season
Having enjoyed a successful international career, Jason became Australia's sixth-highest wicket-taker with a huge 259 under his belt. His performance and dedication to the sport throughout 2004 earned him a place in both the International Cricket Council's (ICC) World Test XI and the ODI XI.
Most recently, Jason has gone on to become a coach. He began in Zimbabwe in 2010 where he worked closely with the MidWest Rhinos as well as working on the Grass Roots to boost the performance of young players in the country. He was selected as the bowling coach of Kings XI Punjab in 2011 before moving to Yorkshire County Cricket Club to become the first-team coach. His time with the team saw a promotion to first division where they won the title in both 2014 and 2015, his performance meant that he was also considered to become the coach of England.
After returning to Australia in 2016, Gillespie enjoyed a brief period with Adelaide Strikers before being named interim head coach for the Papua New Guinea national team in 2017 and taking up the position of head coach of Sussex County Cricket club in 2018.
