Maria Agazio is the Principal and Co-Founder of Equitable Solar Solutions – a non-profit circular economy programme that supplies solar energy to economically challenged families. Having been named in the 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 List in the Energy category, Maria is an industry-leading sustainability and energy professional. Handling the Business Development and Sustainability department at Iconergy, Maria works with REITs, management companies, architects, and engineers on proposals for energy and sustainability consulting. Maria has also been a Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Lead of the Sales team at Motili, a property technology company. She was responsible for creating an Energy & Carbon Saving Calculator that provided clients with an ROI model and apprised them of their carbon emissions footprint.
After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sustainability and BBA in Sales & Marketing from Western Colorado University. Whilst she was studying, Maria gained experience as an intern in diverse departments. She was an Event & Sustainability Intern at Adams County Government, an Industrial design Intern at Loop, and a Material Flow Intern at TerraCycle. These internships allowed her to gain expertise in a myriad of disciplines, all of which come in handy to Maria in her present ventures.
Formerly the Co-Chair of the Committee on the Environment at the American Institute of Architects, she earned a certificate in Energy Efficiency Strategies for High-Performance Buildings from the US Green Building Council. She was also named an American Solar Energy Society Emerging Young Professional – a testament to her reputation in the field.
