Prior to his role in consultancy, Roger graduated from the University of Connecticut and Harvard Law School, cultivating his knowledge of business and passion for the environment. Over the course of his career, he has worked with some of the world’s leading enterprises to increase their competitiveness within the market, by incorporating modern sustainability strategies in their day to day work. Roger’s decades of knowledge means that he is able to advise on business strategies, investment and negotiating with business partners, topics that he explores in his motivational speaking.
His previous roles include serving former President Bill Clinton as Chairman of the White House Climate Change Task Force and Deputy Assistant to the President for Environmental Initiatives, as a senior member of the White House staff. Prior to joining the American Government, he worked as a partner at Patton Boggs LLP.
At present, Roger is an integral Venture Partner for Arborview Capital LLC, a firm that invests in clean energy though growth capital investments. With his wealth of knowledge, he is a regular member on the board of 8 Rivers Capital, Uptake Technologies, NetPower LLC, Clean Capital LLC and the American Council on Renewable Energy - in the latter, he has been a member since 2001. He is also on the Advisory Boards of the Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Additionally, Roger is on the Ingersoll Rand’s Advisory Council on Sustainability, is the Co-Chair of Aspen Institute’s Clean Energy Innovation Forum, and finally, is a Trustee of The Nature Conservancy’s MD-DC Chapter.
Roger is also a prominent media commentator, writer and sustainability speaker. Using his experiences to influence the next generation, he is a Lecturer of Law at Harvard Law School, a position in which he teaches climate law, and a Senior Fellow at the Progressive Policy Institute in Washington D.C. As a public speaker, Roger discusses his methods of business and political sustainability, to benefit business owners who are concerned about their company’s contribution to climate change.
