Alex Balfour

Alex’s background includes his time at Emerging Media (which he co-founded), where he dreamt up the world’s first international Twenty20 cricket tournament. As co-founder and chairman of CricInfo.com (which was eventually sold to ESPN), he took the start-up company to £2m in profits and 20m customers around the world.

Other prestigious positions the motivational speaker has also held are, the chief digital officer and head of new media for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (managing 77 digital channels), as a member of the British government’s digital advisory board and as a key figure in the team that created the website for the Guardian broadsheet newspaper. Alex Balfour has also been responsible for developing Britain’s first general election website.

Currently chief digital officer at Haymon Boxing Management, Alex excels in so many areas in the digital world, including business development and sales, strategy and planning, online media, mobile technology and apps.
