American computer scientist and software engineer, Jeff Dean, is the Head of Google AI and Google’s AI division. The award-winning individual has authored major publications and is well known for his expertise on the speaker circuit.
During his vast career, Jeff has worked for world leading digital organisations that include the Digital Equipment Corporation, the World Health Organization and of course Google. Before joining Google, Jeff built up his skills and knowledge around profiling tools, microprocessor architecture, information retrieval, developing software and data forecasting.
In 1999, Jeff joined Google where he was instrumental in developing five generations of the crawling and indexing system. Along with this, he also helped to develop various pieces of the distributed computing infrastructure and has spent a huge amount of time improving search quality and statistical machine translation.
As a result of his superior expertise and impact in the development of Google's software and search systems, Jeff has been recognised for a variety of achievements. Some of these include the appointment to Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery, Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and was awarded the 2012 ACM Prize in Computing.
