Andrew’s journey began in naval architecture, where he developed a disciplined mindset and the technical grounding that would shape the rest of his career. His early roles took him from Austal to BAE Systems and then to Babcock International as a design manager, building expertise in engineering leadership. A move to QinetiQ marked his transition into high-level management. Starting in business development, he progressed to managing director of the sea systems division, leading hundreds of staff and securing a major UK Ministry of Defence contract. He later entered the world of elite motorsport as head of vehicle design at McLaren Racing, followed by senior operational and programme leadership roles within McLaren GT. He went on to broaden his experience in finance and technology, joining Schroders as COO and global head of process engineering before advancing through several influential positions at G Research, such as Operations Director of Engineering. These roles strengthened his capability in operational excellence, innovation and strategic transformation.
Across his career, Andrew has continued to elevate his professional standing. He is a chartered engineer, a qualified executive coach and a graduate of the Oxford Artificial Intelligence Programme. He also serves as a Leadership Fellow at St George’s House, Windsor Castle, contributing to annual conferences exploring how disruptive technologies influence society, defence and democratic systems. Since taking on the leadership of Rathbone Results, he has transformed the company’s performance, tripling revenue and forging strategic partnerships across defence, nuclear and motorsport industries.
