Biography:

Daniel Hulme is a globally recognised artificial intelligence expert, a top ten Chief AI officer and CEO of the world’s first commercial research organisation to understand Machine Consciousness, Conscium. Daniel’s unparallelled expertise make him a sought after speaker specialising in AI, ethics, innovation and organisational design.

Early in his career, Daniel laid a solid foundation in technology and innovation. Starting as an independent ICT consultant in 1999, he quickly embraced roles that honed his skills, including working as an Innovation Catalyst and contractor for prominent companies. His academic journey at University College London, where he earned both a Masters and Doctorate, further strengthened his expertise. In 2007, Daniel founded Satalia, an AI consultancy company that worked with high profile clients like Tesco, PwC and the BBC. His expertise in AI was widely recognised, he was appointed Innovator in Residence at The Work Foundation in 2012 and an advisor to the UK Home Office in 2015.

In more recent years, Daniel continues to break new ground in AI. In 2021 he was appointed as Chief AI Officer at WPP before founding Conscium in 2024, which seeks to answer some of the biggest questions in AI: what is consciousness? Can we create conscious AI? and Can we upload our consciousness to a machine? Daniel is also dedicated to AI education, he is the Computer and Science Entrepreneur in residence at UCL, where he teaches classes on how AI can be applied to solve business problems, and he also delivered lectures at The London School of Economics and Political Science.
