After earning a law degree from University College London, Victor founded Victor Chu & Co. in 1985, a firm that went on to become one of Hong Kong’s leading legal practices. Recognising the immense opportunities in Asia’s emerging markets, he launched First Eastern Investment Group in 1988, focusing on private equity, venture capital, and business expansion investments. His deep understanding of finance and governance led him to serve as a director and council member of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, a member of the Hong Kong Takeovers and Mergers Panel, and an advisory committee member of the Securities and Futures Commission.
A prominent figure in global business, Victor has held key leadership roles across major institutions. He served for twelve years as a Foundation Board Member of the World Economic Forum and now co-chairs its International Business Council. His influence extends across multiple sectors as a board member of Airbus SE and Nomura Holdings and co-founder of Peach Aviation in Japan. Beyond investment, Victor is dedicated to sustainability and served on the Global Ocean Commission.
