Edleen John’s work as a specialist diversity and inclusion consultant is recognised the world over. With a Masters in Psychiatry and Psychology from Kings College London, Edleen started working in the realm of financial services and worked her way up to where she is now. When she became the Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Social Equality of KPMG, she was the only black director in the ‘people’ function, and also happened to be the youngest. But as the years have gone by, she kept learning and expanded her experience in revenue generating and support functions, thus helping her get to the pinnacles of success she has reached today. She even worked at Morgan Stanley as the Vice President across Diversity and Inclusion, Graduate Recruitment and Lateral Recruitment at Morgan Stanley for a period of six years.
Besides her current role at the Football Association, she contributes her services to many boards like that of the DIAL, which is a community for Diverse Inclusive Aspirational Leaders. Also, a non-executive Director of Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, Edleen is also the School Governor for a community school that caters to youth who suffer from disabilities. Edleen has been the recipient of awards like Football Black List Top 100, Yahoo! Finance Empower Top 100 Ethnic Minority Future Leaders, and the ‘We Are The City’ Rising Star in HR and Recruitment award.
A Fellow of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, she was also named at one of the Top Ten BAME Inspirational Leaders and was shortlisted as a National Diversity Award winner for a Positive Age Role model.
