Sabah Choudrey is an award-winning British Muslim consultant, writer and LGBTQ+ activist who is widely hired as a motivational speaker for their powerful advocacy and lived experience at the intersection of faith, race and gender identity. As the co-founder of Trans Pride Brighton, the first Trans Pride event in the UK, Sabah has been instrumental in creating visible, affirming spaces for trans communities. Their work consistently centres inclusion, courage and collective wellbeing, making them a compelling voice for organisations seeking meaningful cultural change.
Sabah’s early career was rooted in frontline youth and community support. After joining Gendered Intelligence, they progressed to Senior Youth Work Practitioner, directly supporting young trans and non binary people to build confidence and resilience. During this time, they co-founded Colours Youth Network, a pioneering organisation dedicated to LGBTQIA+ people of colour across the UK. Sabah also trained and worked as a psychotherapist for Naz Project London, offering counselling on mental health, sexuality, relationships and sexual health. These formative roles grounded their expertise in real-world safeguarding, wellbeing and intersectional practice. They later became Director of Middlesex Pride, strengthening regional visibility and safety, and now serve as Safeguarding and Wellbeing Co-ordinator and EDI Specialist at Friends of the Earth, advising senior leaders on embedding diversity, equality and inclusion into organisational strategy.
Alongside their professional roles, Sabah is Vice Chair of the Trustee Board at the Inclusive Mosque Initiative, championing inclusive faith spaces. Their impact has been recognised through numerous honours, including repeated awards for Trans Pride Brighton, inclusion on The Rainbow List, the Gay Times Future Fighter Honour and the National Advisor for LGBT Health Award. They were also named on the Diversity Power List 2024/2025 as one of the most influential DEI advocates in the UK. As the author of 'Supporting Trans People of Colour', described as essential reading by Diva Magazine, Sabah contributes thought leadership to national conversations on equity and representation. Their TEDx talk 'Brown, Trans, Muslim, and Proud' further cemented their reputation as a bold and articulate changemaker.
As a motivational speaker, Sabah combines professional expertise with authenticity and emotional intelligence. They address racism, representation, queer identities, intersectionality and activism with clarity and compassion, translating complex social issues into practical insight for workplaces and communities. Their experience advising senior leadership teams, supporting vulnerable young people and building national networks enables them to connect with diverse audiences. Event organisers hire Sabah not only for inspiration, but for actionable guidance that fosters psychological safety, inclusive leadership and lasting organisational impact.
