Steve Nouri is the Chief AI Evangelist for Wand and a highly-respected data scientist today. Being an expert in Advanced Analysis and Data Science, he is also the Founder of a non-profit initiative AI4Diversity, that has attracted 4000 to spread the word on how AI can be used to work more efficiently for society. After completing his Master’s in IT and Data Analytics from he University of Technology in Sydney, Steve joined the workforce as a Software Engineer. After working at a myriad of companies, he built up his experience and eventually joined as the Head of Data Science at Nod. His role required him to oversee strategic direction and the development of advanced analytics. Steve has also been Head of Data Science for CSIRO’s Data61 as well as Head of Data Science and AI for the Australian Computer Society. Going back to his alma mater, he worked as a postgraduate lecturer at the University of Technology. His journey in the ethical AI space came from his work in 2021 as Global AI Ambassador and Advisor for Boab, where he spent time in Asia educating people on ethical AI entrepreneurship.
Today, Steve is the co-founder and Chairperson for Hackmakers and the Chief AI Evangelist for Wand. He has held the responsibility of organizing UN’s World Innovation Day Hackathon as a part of his role at Hackmakers. With 1.5 million followers made up of budding data scientists on LinkedIn eager to learn from him, Steve was named as a Top Voice in Data Science for 2020 by LinkedIn and was recognized as Top Voice in Data Science and AI by The International Society of Data Scientists (ISODS) the following year.
