As part of Generation Z, Barrat is now using her platform to encourage businesses within the technology sector to embrace digital transformation as well as to inspire women and the younger generation within the industry.
After graduating from Kings College London with a degree in English Literature, Barrat went onto study Radio Production before regularly featuring on BBC’s Tech Tent, commenting on tech stories for Radio 2 and discussing morning papers on talkSPORTS Breakfast Show.
Having established herself as a prominent figure within the technology industry, Georgie also now features on ITV’s Weekend as a resident tech expert. During the show, she’ll discuss some of the latest technology with presenting star Aled Jones before working behind the scenes with the production team in order to piece the feature together.
As a popular event host, Georgie has taken on roles with high-profile brands such as acting as the YouTube presenter for Carphone Warehouse, delivering Tech City New’s weekly video roundup and presenting alongside Matthew Wright on The Wright Stuff. She is also a regular conference facilitator and often works with clients including Intel, Adobe, IFA and Retail Week Live to bring her expertise to the stage.
With copious amounts of passion, Barrat is able to captivate entire rooms with her motivational speeches that encourage younger people, specifically girls to get into coding. She has already worked alongside STEMettes and Baytree Centre charities which support younger people involving themselves in STEM subjects at GCSE level and further studies.
Georgie is currently on a mission to abolish the view that the tech industry is just for males. She is also extremely passionate about motivating women and the younger generation to become future leaders and more empowered to achieve their goals no matter the stereotype around it.
