A talented athlete that was noticeable from an early age, Joanna was picked up by the British Cycling Talent Team at aged 16, where she went on to win the British National Track Championships the following year.
After taking the world by storm in her first appearance at the Olympics, she then qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, winning another gold medal and setting 3 new World Records in the process.
Since her retirement from competitive cycling, Joanna has taken on other new and exciting challenges, such as commentary work with the BBC, coaching and a degree in Human Biology at the Manchester Metropolitan University.
