Jade Garratt is an experienced educator, facilitator and organisational development expert who specialises in building healthier and higher-performing workplaces. As Co-Founder and Director of Psych Safety, she works with leaders and teams to embed psychological safety into their everyday practice, creating cultures where people can thrive. With nearly two decades of experience across education, charities, universities and business, Jade inspires audiences with her ability to translate complex ideas into practical actions that improve collaboration, trust and performance.
Jade began her career as an English teacher before moving into leadership and development roles. She earned a degree in Physics from the University of Oxford and later a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Warwick, before joining Teach First in 2014 as a Leadership Development Officer. She went on to become Development Lead at Teach First, worked internationally with Teach For Portugal, and played a key role at Police Now as Curriculum Design Specialist and Leadership Development Curriculum Manager. These experiences gave her a unique perspective on how learning, leadership and culture intersect.
Her career has since expanded into senior roles in higher education, including as Head of Educational Enhancement at the University of Nottingham, where she also serves as Vice Chair of Governors at Sycamore Academy. In 2024, she was recognised as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), a reflection of her ongoing contributions to teaching, learning and leadership. Alongside this, she is completing a PhD at the University of Nottingham, combining rigorous research with her practical commitment to improving organisational cultures.
