Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic is a globally recognised expert in behavioural sciences, artificial intelligence, and leadership. Since 2018, he has served as Chief Innovation Officer at ManpowerGroup, leading efforts to transform how organisations can utilise AI, psychology, and science-backed tools to help organisations better predict performance, understand talent, and build more effective leaders. He has collaborated with leading companies such as Google, Spotify, JP Morgan, and Unilever.
After earning his MSc and PhD in Psychology at University College London, Tomas began his career there as a Professor of Business Psychology. He became a Professor at New York University in 2006, co-founded META Profiling in 2012, and began speaking at the World Bank that same year. In 2014, he was appointed CEO of Hogan Assessment Systems and joined Columbia University as a Professor. Tomas has been a Visiting Professor at Harvard and a Strategic Advisor to the United Nations since 2017. He is also the co-founder of Deeper Signals, a company championing AI-powered personality assessments.
He has written over 150 articles and authored 11 deeply insightful books, including ‘Why Do So Many Incompetent Men Become Leaders?’, which his TEDx talk is based on, ‘I, Human: AI, Automation, and the Quest to Reclaim What Makes Us Unique’, and his upcoming book ‘Don’t Be Yourself: Why Authenticity is Overrated’. Tomas is a regular contributor to the Harvard Business Review and Forbes, and has made over 100 media appearances, with features on BBC, Sky, and CNN. Tomas has received awards from the American Psychological Association, the International Society for the Study of Individual Differences, and is a fellow of the Society for Industrial-Organisational Psychology.
