A qualified doctor, best-selling author, content creator and founder of ‘The Food Medic', Hazel is doing everything in her power to help promote a healthier lifestyle and nutrition to the world.
After graduating from the Univesity of South Wales with first-class honours in Medical Science and an award for the highest academic achievement in her year, Hazel went onto study a graduate degree in Medicine at Cardiff University. She has successfully gained a level two and three qualifications as a personal trainer and is now completing a masters degree in Clinical Nutrition and Public Health Nutrition in London.
She works as a locum doctor between both surgical and medical departments as well as working with SportsMedics Ltd, who provide tailored high specification medical cover for sports and mass participation events.
In 2017, Hazel reached the UK and Irish Bestseller lists when she released her debut book The Food Medic. Due to its success, she followed it up with a second book The Food Medic For Life which reaped similar achievements. To complement this series, Dr Wallace has also released a podcast titled The Food Medic where she speaks with leading experts to give tips and advice on living a healthier lifestyle.
Hazel has worked with an abundance of brands including Women's Health and Psychologies magazine in her bid to spread her positive medical message to their readers. She has also become the ambassador for the British Heart Foundation and Trekstock.
A leading lifestyle and wellbeing speaker within the circuit, Hazel has spoken at TED X Youth in Glasgow and regularly attends BBC Goodfood, BE:FIT, WellFest and Balance. She has also made her TV debut on BBC One London’s Inside Out where she gave a family a four-week masterclass to improve their health and fitness.
As she was regarded by the Health Food Manufacturer’ Association as the Blogger of the Year in 2017 and named the Wellness Blogger of the Year at The Wellness Awards in 2018, it’s evident that Hazel is a leading expert within sustaining a healthy lifestyle and improving fitness.
