Whilst still at university, Ella was diagnosed with postural tachycardia syndrome, a condition that affects your autonomic nervous system, heart rate and blood pressure. After four months of being in and out of the hospital, suffering from symptoms such as chronic fatigue, digestive issues and many infections, she was prescribed with several different medications which all had limited success in managing the condition.
After reaching her worst state, Ella became determined to change her life around and began to research other methods in which she could manage her condition. After reading about many peoples journey to relieve the symptoms of this rare diagnosis, she discovered that turning to a plant-based diet could be the key to her health. Although a seemingly easy remedy, Ella was inexperienced in cooking, had very limited knowledge on plant-based ingredients and as she was at her lowest, she had lost all drive and determination.
Beginning her online diary that would later become her impressively popular blog, Deliciously Ella, Ella began experimenting with different foods and documenting them in her little segment of the internet. This investigation is what powered her drive and motivation to try new techniques in the kitchen, build on her culinary skills and continue to eat healthily.
Her blog has now become a roaring success with over 130 million hits, she also set up social media accounts to inspire a larger community and is now hosting supper clubs and cooking classes where she passes on her wealth of knowledge onto her followers. Her small personal project soon led to the creation of her own mobile app which landed at the top of the Food and Drink charts on the UK App Store as well as the publishing of her own cookbook which became the Best-Selling Debut Cookbook ever in the UK.
Taking the idea to a whole new level, Ella and her husband have collaboratively started up a business and opened a few delis around central London. They have also launched their own product range, also titled Deliciously Ella which includes breakfast cereals, energy balls and oat bars. Selling in over 6,000 stores including Waitrose, Starbucks and Tesco, the pair plan to widen their concept and expand the self-made brand even further.
With a passionate drive to bring health to others, Ella can deliver a captivating and motivating speech to help your audience change their lifestyle for the better. She can also bring impressive demonstrations to any event to help inspire audiences even more so.
