Cam Whitnall is the Managing Director of The Big Cat Sanctuary, wildlife conservation advocate and familiar face from CBBC’s 'One Zoo Three'. Raised at Hertfordshire Zoo and The Big Cat Sanctuary, Cam grew up immersed in animal care, conservation and education. Today, he combines hands-on wildlife expertise with media presence and digital storytelling, using his platform to raise awareness of global conservation issues and inspire future generations.
Cam began his professional career in digital media, becoming Head of Video at Jungle Creations in 2016. There, he developed large-scale wildlife and environmental content for global audiences, building expertise in storytelling and digital engagement. In 2019, he co-led the Drive4Wildlife expedition across East Africa, travelling more than 2,000 miles to deliver funding, equipment and an animal ambulance to conservation partners in Uganda. This experience strengthened his commitment to frontline conservation and international collaboration.
In 2020, Cam stepped into senior leadership roles at The Big Cat Sanctuary and Hertfordshire Zoo, serving as Marketing Manager while also becoming a presenter on CBBC’s 'One Zoo Three', later appearing in 'OZT Goes Wild' in Britain. Recognised as an official Nikon Creator in 2022, he continued to blend conservation with visual storytelling. As Project Lead for the Big Cats in Crisis campaign, he led the high-profile rescue of five lions from war-torn Ukraine in 2024. In 2025, he was appointed Managing Director of The Big Cat Sanctuary, taking overall responsibility for strategy, conservation programmes and public engagement. He is also the author of Lion Heart, sharing personal insight into wildlife protection and purpose-led work.
Cam is hired as a speaker for his authentic, first-hand perspective on conservation leadership, crisis response and purpose-driven careers. He speaks about resilience, environmental responsibility, digital storytelling and engaging younger audiences in sustainability. His blend of operational experience, media presence and lifelong passion for wildlife makes him a compelling and inspiring voice for organisations seeking meaningful impact.
