Håkan Nordkvist is best known for his decade-long tenure as Head of Sustainability Innovation at IKEA Services, a role he fulfilled with distinction. Håkan’s journey with IKEA began in 2001 as Quality Manager, overseeing quality and environmental practices within the company’s trading and supply chain operations. In 2007, he became Global Business Compliance Manager. His career continued to progress, and he was subsequently appointed Global Category Manager of Construction, then of Operations. In 2011, he assumed the role of Head of Sustainability Innovation, where he led the launch of IKEA’s Clean Energy Service business. Under his leadership, IKEA introduced solar panels, heat pumps, and renewable electricity across multiple countries and regions.
Since leaving IKEA, Håkan has embraced a range of leadership and advisory roles. He serves as Chair of Launch Nordic, a collaborative platform for innovation, and has been a Board Member at BoKlok, a company developing sustainable, high-quality housing in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the UK. In 2023, he became CEO of Net Zero Company, where he helps organisations and individuals accelerate their transition to net zero. He is also the owner of Jephi AB and a Strategic Advisor at XFrame.
Håkan holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Luleå University of Technology and is widely recognised as a leader in the business side of sustainability.
