Patricia Espinosa is the Founding Partner and CEO of Onepoint5, a renowned collective of experts committed to guiding organisations toward building a sustainable future. Patricia joined the Foreign Service in 1981, over the course of her diplomatic career she has held a number of roles including Permanent Mission of Mexico to the UN, Director of International Organisations, President of the Third Committee and General Director of Regional Organisations of the Americas. In 2006, Patricia became the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Mexican Government, in this role she conducted COP16 to adopt "Cancun Agreements", restoring trust in multilateral process. In 2012, Patricia became the Ambassador of Mexico to Germany. In 2016, Patricia became the executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, where she guided the organisation to fully support the Paris Agreement.
Patricia took a step away from her diplomatic career in 2016 and founded Onepoint5. A big believer that the key to finding solutions to global challenges is bringing together many people from different disciplines to work towards a common goal. Patricia’s consultancy supports actors from different sectors with advice on key areas such as policies, strategies, and actions so that they can move towards a resilient and sustainable future.
Recipient of the German Sustainability Prize and the Saxon Hans-Carl von Carlowitz Society Sustainability Prize, in 2012, Patricia was appointed Ambassador Emeritus of Mexico.
