With a natural business flare, Dewberry was thriving in business and on a six-figure salary by the time she was 22. She showed potential in the technology industry by consulting at high-profile corporations in order to change the way that they use technology, before finding her fame on the BBC’s reality show, The Apprentice. Coming out on top out of 14,000 contestants and applicants, Michelle found herself working alongside business magnate, Alan Sugar.
Since her victory on the show, Michelle has founded her own business consultancy where she offers specialist advice surrounding technology. She has also launched a variety of discount and voucher websites which flew to popularity in 2007. Also that year, Dewberry released an autobiography Anything Is Possible which highlights the obstacles she had to overcome in order to succeed. With her book centring around mental health issues in which she experienced when she was younger and in later life when she sadly miscarried, Dewberry has become a strong advocate for eradicating the stigma around such disorders such as depression and bulimia.
As a keen philanthropist, Dewberry has also dedicated a lot of her time to raising money for charities including Women’s Aid and The Prince’s Trust. She is also a patron of Hull Children’s University where she helps to inject ambition and self-esteem into children who are less fortunate. She also ran the London Marathon in 2007 in a bid to raise money for the NSPCC.
Most recently, Michelle ran as an independent political candidate in time for the 2017 General Election. Campaigning in her hometown, she bought new policies to the table and managed to receive nearing 2,000 votes in just four weeks. She is still highly active within current affairs as she regularly comments on headlines for Sky Sunrise and appears on national TV programmes such as Question Time and This Week.
A businesswoman, advocate for mental health, generous and charismatic public figure, Michelle Dewberry is fully equipped to make the perfect motivational speech at corporate or school events.
