Susannah Schofield is the author of the book ‘Mind the Gap – creating successful strategy’ and has gathered her expertise in the fields of business, revenue streams, identifying commercially successful opportunities and how to lead change throughout her 25-year long career. Starting out as the Deputy Sales Director of the Royal Mail, she worked her way up to the post of Commercial Opportunity Director of Royal Mail before she decided to leave the organisation in 2016. A recipient of the honourable OBE title for Services to Businesses, Women & Young people in Business in 2015, Susannah is now available to speak on a range of topics using her unparalleled expertise as a reference at several events.
Graduating from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, Susannah is currently the Director General of Direct Selling Association UK – a role that truly excites Susannah because it one through which she can safeguard the interests of distributors and consumers by laying down guidelines and conduct codes for the industry. This challenging responsibility can only be entrusted to someone who has proved their mettle several times over. In 2010, Susannah conceived, curated, constructed and was the owner of Looking Glass a company which was fully regulated by the DSA. Looking Glass was the recipient of awards like Winner of Startup Business of the Year award, 'Excellence Industry' award and was also a Finalist of The Business Parent of the Year award. After 3 years of running it, Susannah decided to sell the company to a corporate business.
Her roles at Royal Mail saw her assume responsibility of a New Business sales team that start out with 13 people and ended with 300, bringing in over £290 million in revenue per annum. A respected member of the business community, Susannah’s business acumen and advice has been called upon by the Government board of Business Innovation and Skills Advisory Panel in the past as well. Her work as Owner and Founder of Pitch Sports allows her to run the fan engagement and prediction global app successfully whilst also working at the Direct Selling Association. Susannah is interestingly also a certified Neuroscience Practitioner who applies the principles of behavioural techniques to enhance performance, techniques and strategy.
Susannah is also a regular on BBC as a radio expert contributor and served as Editor-In-Chief at Kent Women in Business Magazine which aimed to provide insight to businesswomen on business concepts, embracing innovation, thus empowering women to take that step towards success. A non-executive Director at Cohesion Marketing by Design too, Susannah is now available to speak at a range of corporate events using her umpteen knowledge and expertise to inspire people to do well in their businesses.
