As chief executive of the Dome, PY took a long, hard look at what had gone wrong and revived the venue’s fortunes, eventually helping to bring in more than 6m visitors, much to the British government’s relief since the Dome was at risk of becoming a very expensive white elephant.
At the latest count, PY has turned around nine failing companies and held such prestigious positions as Vice President of Euro Disney and CEO of X-Leisure, one of the UK’s biggest leisure companies.
After turning around X-Leisure’s faltering leisure facility and snow park at Milton Keynes, motivational speaker PY went on to buy several other leisure parks and snow sites as well as shopping centres and casinos, building up an impressive leisure property portfolio valued at £600m. The property firm Land Securities later bought PY’s management company, reportedly for a nine-figure fee.
A regular choice for makers of TV programmes as an expert commentator on business issues, Gerbeau is arguably more popular in the UK than in his native France. At one point, after backing London’s 2012 bid for the Olympics, PY was suspended from the French Olympic Association, even though he had been captain of the French Olympic Ice Hockey team!
With incredibly well put together presentations and talks, PY is fantastic for events and conferences. For those seeking information on economics, and establishing core values to a company, he is a phenomenal speaker. Business isn’t everything though, PY once captained the French Ice Hockey Team and was also a scratch golfer.
During Gerbeau’s keynote speeches, his endless energy and passion for business strategy alongside his wit and charm makes PY is an incredibly sought after keynote speaker and event host on the circuit.
