Confidence Staveley is the Founder and Executive Director of CyberSafe Foundation – a non-governmental organisation that aims to instate inclusive and safe digital access across Africa and protects those people and businesses who are most prone to cybercrime. Dubbed as a “Relatable Cybersecurity Leader”, Confidence was the CyberSecurity Woman of the Year Award winner in 2021 and 2022 and featured in the 40 Under 40 in Cybersecurity list in 2023. One of the most experienced personalities in her field, she started out as a Computer Instructor at Eastern Data Services Ltd. She was also an executive Assistant/ IT Officer at Cross River State Government, a Customer Service Advisor/Telephone Banking Consultant at the Lloyds Banking Group, an Information Technology Specialist at Calabar International Convention Centre, a Tech Marketing and Interactive Media Manager at InfoGraphics Nigeria and a Cyber Security Analyst at UIC Innovations Africa. Before she became the Managing Partner at Gidinerd in Nigeria, she served as the Country Manager of DIGISS LLC where she had to understand the impact of cyber-security laws and regulations on public and private sector businesses.
With a BSc in Information Technology and Business Information Systems from the University of Middlesex and an MSc in Information Technology Management from the University of Bradford, Confidence is the author of “NoGoFallMaga – The Handbook”, Africa’s first cybersecurity awareness handbook. Frequently appearing on top global media platforms like Forbes, BBC, and The Guardian to name a few, and speaking at the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Councils Meeting and The World Bank Digital Development Seminar, she is experienced in sharing her views on cybersecurity matters.
