Nicknamed Ms Cyprah or Cyber-Oprah by admirers Elaine is the first black graduate of the UK's pioneering Open University and a postgraduate of Cambridge University. A former education manager and magazine editor, she is the author of six books, three e-books, and over three thousand articles on her subject fields.
Elaine believes smiles and laughter are the best medicines, and does not take herself too seriously too often. Her main advice is: "Always be yourself! Those who like you will value you and nurture you, while those who don't will pass you by and save you the stress!"
Elaine is also the founder of two meet-up groups to enable less isolation and more interaction between the community in the Buckinghamshire and Berkshire areas: “The High Wycombe and Marlow Revellers”, and the “Fun, Fab, and Over-50 Singles” to motivate older members to seek companions and partners. Club membership swelled to over 200 members in the first three months.
Elaine has enjoyed many accomplishments, most notably as keynote speaker at the Paris Global Women’s Leadership Conference, being the first black woman in the UK to own a national magazine, and becoming Diversity Management Adviser, and high profile role model, to many public service, blue-chip and voluntary organisations, including The Bermuda Top 100 Women Achievers, The Princes Youth Business Trust, British Telecom, Royal Navy and J.P Morgan.
