Charlie was a Qualified Chartered Accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in London. He has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management and has held several senior finance positions with large PLC companies including BT, Santander and Elsevier. However, in 2008, following a period of personal difficulties, Charlie quit the corporate life to set up the Climb Your Mountain charity - helping anyone who had their own personal mountain to climb in life with a charity focused on people's health & wellbeing (stress, depression, anxiety, confidence, motivation and other health issues).
Charlie suffered from stress-related depression during his corporate days and found how beneficial physical challenges and climbing mountains were to deal with this. Taking groups hiking and climbing mountains became the main way of funding to provide advice, workshops, courses and books to people for free. He has supplied over 100,000 free books, taught courses and workshops to over 3,000 people and he has delivered and approximately 2,500 people have climbed mountains with him.
In recent years he has delivered many talks based on his own personal experiences, health & wellbeing and 'mountain adventures' … and more recently he has developed a concept called 'Mountain Parallels' with the philosophy being the distinct parallels that exist between climbing mountains, business performance and our personal lives.
In 2016, Charlie published his popular self-help book Motivation & Achievement: Challenge Yourself to a Better Life. In it, he guides people to become more motivated and achieve greater success, whether that's through the challenges they already face or with new challenges they decide to take on.
A wonderful speaker with a powerful and inspirational story to share, Charlie will have your audience gripped from the first minute to the last, helping them to understand how to overcome their own challenges and empowering them to help other people do the same.
