Lisa Armstrong is an innovation strategist, entrepreneur, consultant and recipient of the Publicis 90 Award. Founder and Principal Director of ChewingRice since 2018 and Founder and Innovation Director at Ugogo Africa, she’s working towards inclusive innovation, gender equality and a sustainable world. She is now available to speak at a range of events about her specialties in subjects like marketing, commercial media, communications, inclusion and female empowerment, business transformation, women in tech, African fashion, e-commerce, and remote and distributed team structures.
With a BA In Business Law and Marketing from London Metropolitan University and an Executive Course in Entrepreneurship and Innovation in an Age of Change from LSE where she got a scholarship, she was able to work as a Trainee Brand Manager at Central African Distribution Company. She then secured a role as an Account Manager at Worldwide Business Reach, Marketing Manager at Eligo and in Global Marketing at Publicis Sapient. Whilst she was studying, she also co-founded FiestaWorld – her first company. All these roles saw Lisa garner knowledge and expertise that is responsible for her success in the industry.
Lisa is focused on increasing access to online markets even for people who are struggling with their finances. To that effect, her company Ugogo Africa aims to move past some people’s inability to access e-commerce websites due to the fact that they did not possess bank accounts. On the other hand, her newest venture ChewingRice, works with people so that they can navigate challenges in digital transformation. In 2022, Lisa was bestowed with the title of OBE and was included in the 2022 New Years Honours List. She has also been awarded with the WACL Future Leaders Award that recognises her as one of the foremost personalities in the field of marketing, communications and commercial media.
