Biography:

Susie Wolff, the brand-new Managing Director of the F1 Academy, is absolutely no stranger to the sport. A former competitive motor-racer herself, Susie started her journey as a go-karter very early on. Today, she is an excellent example of the fact that women too can excel in this male-dominated sport. Available to hire as a speaker, Susie uses her platform to encourage women to dream big and follow the passion to sports, even if it isn’t considered conventional.

From her days of go-karting where she won the British Woman Kart Driver of the Year award in 1996, Susie became the first woman to drive in a Formula One Race weekend in over twenty-two years during the 2014 British Grand Prix. She has represented teams like Mercedes Benz and was a development driver for the Williams Formula One team, since her debut in the Formula Renault league. During her time there, she was nominated for the Young Driver of the Year award, after winning 3 podium positions on finishing.

When she decided to retire from racing in 2015, Susie certainly did not stop involving herself in other aspects of the sport. She served as the Team Principal for ROKiT Venturi Formula E team and an Ambassador for Mercedes-AMG. Only recently in 2023 has she joined as the Managing Director of the F1 Academy – an all-female category where the primary focus is to nurture young female talent in motorsports so that they can compete on higher levels. Susie’s venture Dare to be Different is also set up along the same lines to achieve a similar goal of encouraging women to compete and succeed in sports that are played by men predominately.

The recipient of an MBE in 2016 and an honorary Fellowship from the University of Edinburgh, Susie is utilising her platform as a speaker to exemplify that woman can participate, succeed and thrive in male-dominated sports. She uses her own personal story to further this message and is an extraordinary presence.
