After practising as an M&A attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, he moved into investment banking, becoming Vice President at J.P. Morgan Securities in 2003 and later Deputy Head of Equity Capital Markets at Barclays Capital in 2007. His career took a pivotal turn in 2008 when he became the Managing Director of Special Investments for China Investment Corporation (CIC), China’s sovereign wealth fund, where he played a key role in shaping global investment strategies.
