Henry Ajder is a leading voice on Generative AI and the synthesised media revolution. Presenter of BBC’s “The Future Will Be Synthesized” – a five-part documentary series that unveils the legal, political ethical ramifications of the various disruptive technologies in our world, he has helped several people understand generative AI and deepfakes better. Member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for AI, Henry is one of the best speakers on subjects related to generative AI, synthesised media and their implications.
Today a Visiting Senior Research Associate of Generative AI and Synthetic Media at Jesus College Cambridge, Henry is academically gifted himself. He possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Warwick and a Master’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. These has facilitated his success and Henry now serves on the European Advisory Council at Meta Reality Labs, and is an Advisor of AI and Media Integrity at Partnership on AI. He has also been a trusted advisor to Meta, the European Commission, BBC and House of Lords – some of the world’s leading organisations.
Henry has had an illustrious career, having worked in key roles across several enterprising organisations. He started out as a Communications and Government Policy Intern at Ipsos, later working as a Consultant and Strategy Analyst at Freshminds Talents. Assuming the role of Emerging and Internet Technologies Researcher at Nesta, Henry was the policy advisor on the EU Commission’s next generation internet and tech futures programme. Progressively taking on more responsibility, her performed roles such as Head of Research & Threat Intelligence at Sensity and Head of Policy and Partnerships at Metaphysic.ai, with yen to uncover as much as possible about deepfakes and synthetic media. He also authored The States Deepfakes in 2019 – a comprehensive look into deepfakes. In 2021, Henry launched the first industry initiative working for the advancement of ethical Generative AI and synthetic media as the Lead of Synthetic Futures.
Often interviewed by leading media channels like Al Jazeera, Deutsche Welle, ITV News, Sky TV, Vox, BBC and podcasts or radio shows to share his expert opinions, he was named as one of the Top 20 European Power Players in Generative AI by Sifted.
