Travis Frain OBE BCA DL is an extraordinary motivational speaker whose life story powerfully illustrates resilience, courage, and the ability to create positive change from unimaginable tragedy. At only 19 years old, Travis was critically injured during the horrific Westminster Bridge terrorist attack in 2017. What followed could have broken most - multiple fractures, a long and painful recovery, and financial hardship - yet Travis instead chose to transform his personal ordeal into a lifelong mission of advocacy, service, and leadership.
In the years since the attack, Travis has become a nationally and internationally respected voice in the fight against violent extremism and for improved support for victims of terrorism. He co-founded Survivors Against Terror, a campaigning organisation that works to improve government support and recognition for those affected by acts of terror. Building on this momentum, he later founded the Resilience in Unity Project, which records testimonies from victims of terrorism around the world and uses them as educational counter-narratives to prevent radicalisation. His work has seen him collaborate with major organisations such as Counter Terrorism Policing HQ, the National Emergencies Trust, and several UK universities where he has served as a lecturer in Policing and Criminology.
Travis's expertise and leadership have been recognised at the highest levels. In recognition of his services to counter-extremism and victims’ advocacy, he was appointed Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by King Charles III. In 2024, he was also commissioned as the youngest Deputy Lord-Lieutenant in the United Kingdom, acting as a personal representative of the Monarch in Lancashire. Beyond the UK, Travis has spoken at prestigious venues including the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Council of Europe, the European Commission, UNESCO, and the UK Parliament, offering his unique perspective on resilience, victim support, and terrorism prevention.
Despite his many accolades, Travis remains deeply committed to using his personal experience to inspire and educate others. His message resonates universally: that with determination, compassion, and unity, it is possible to turn even the darkest moments into catalysts for meaningful change. Whether addressing government leaders, students, corporate teams, or security professionals, Travis brings a rare authenticity and a compelling call to action that leaves audiences both moved and empowered.
