Charlie Fink has worked on making popular culture and technology meet for nearly forty years and today is known as a Metaverse Consultant. Having worked at organisations such as Disney and AOL Studios, Charlie was able to gather a high degree of expertise on topics such as AR, VR, data and the Metaverse. He uses this expertise when he writes for his weekly column “This Week in XR”, published in Forbes and also when he co-hosts his podcast “This Week in XR”. Charlie is available to speak at corporate events and share his knowledge of how to find a place in this ever changing technology landscape.
Charlie studied Film at the The Art Institute of Chicago and from there began his awe-inspiring career. His first role in the big leagues was that of Vice President of Creative Development and Production at Disney. He dedicated 6 years to this role and it was here that he supervised the development and production of animated movies and theme parks. In fact, he is the man behind the concept of classic Disney movies like 'The Lion King', The Rescuers Down Under, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Oliver and Company and The Little Mermaid. His job as a supervisor entailed him overseeing the writing and music composition and also the artists who were developing future film concepts. After this he moved to Virtual World Entertainment serving as Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Director of the company. Here he was responsible for working on immersive VR gaming experiences and learning the ropes of AR, VR and the Metaverse.
Charlie has also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer at AOL Studios, essentially working on producing creative original content. Charlie has also help positions such as Founder and CEO of eAgents Inc, President and Chief Creative Officer of American Greetings Interactive and Founder and CEO of Charlie Company LLC. Presently, Charlie is on the Adjunct Faculty of Chapman University where he specialises in all things XR, including its production and landscape. Charlie is also a best-selling author, which is unsurprising to anyone familiar with his work and experience. He has two AR-enable books to his name entitled Convergence and Metaverse, in addition to his two other books Remote Collaboration and Dissecting the Metaverse which he released in 2022.
Apart from writing, Charlie is also a prolific speaker and has been invited to speak at events like CES, South by Southwest and the Augmented World Expo. He has much to say about the Metaverse, AR, VR, convergence of popular culture and technology, and how to cope with the fast-paced change that takes place in the Metaverse.
